On offer is an increasingly rare
Chase
for a
Chandler and Price 8 x 12 Printing Press.
The chase is in “excellent” vintage, used condition, with no obvious welds, breaks, repairs, or problems of any kind. It obviously has various dings and bangs from as many as 100 years of usage. However, there is no apparent damage that would appear to affect its proper function. The chase lies perfectly flat. We have no way to judge how the chase would print. Importantly, it
does
lay flat, with no signs of warpage. As stated above, there are also no signs of weld repairs. (Please carefully review photos!)
Not being experts on Chandler and Price Presses, we cannot guarantee that this is an original casting. However, to our eye, it has all the appearance of one.

For an item that is likely well over 100 years old, the chase appears to be in very fine shape. It bears the marks from years of usage but appears to be in useable condition. This was found in a printer’s “stash” of vintage, collectible letterpress equipment.
PLEASE NOTE
- In these photos, the
Chase
appears lighter in color than it does in actual fact - not as dark or as black, in other words. The photographer purposely lightened the colors to allow detail to show as obviously as possible. If you would prefer to see a photo exposed essentially "as is" please let us know.

Shipping
Combined orders:
If you decide to bid on more than one item, please send us a message so we can determine the best shipping method/cost. Especially with dinnerware, combining shipping does not always lower the price and may endanger the pieces! If we DO find a better price, we happily will pass savings on to you.
Damaged in shipping:
We package very well. We often use clean, recycled materials. To date, we have received no complaints regarding items damaged in transit, although we know it can happen. If anything
does
happen to your purchase in the shipping process,
please
send us digital photos of any damage to the package and/or the item. The photos will
help us immeasurably
when making a claim with the shipper and will also help us make packaging improvements for future shipping. (We apologize for the bother.)
Buyer pays return shipping costs.
The piece(s)
must
be returned in "same as sold" condition, allowing, of course, for unusual circumstances like breakage during shipping, etc.
