Description
A Stangl Pottery, New Jersey, USA, cup and saucer in Magnolia pattern. Pattern # 3870. Hand painted dinnerware in a red body. Magnolia was designed by Kay Hackett and introduced in 1952. Carved then hand painted in an off-rose and white against a soft gray-green. Large flower on front of cup and smaller flowers on rear. Saucer has red band with central floral design that matches rear of cup. Stangl discontinued use of a red body in October 1974. There are variations in colors and design due to hand craftsmanship. Cup holds 4 fluid ounces. Cup measures approx. 3.75" wide at widest x 2 1/8" tall. Saucer measures approx. 6.25" in diameter. There is one tiny chip in glaze on one saucer (see photo) otherwise no cracks or chips. Inconsistent crazing is present and insignificant manufacturing flaws.I do refund shipping overages on multiples purchased and shipped to same address.
I search garage sales, estate sales, auctions, and thrift stores for the items I list for sale.
Items are thoroughly cleaned/washed.
Photographs are part of the description. There may be reflections in photos of shiny, glossy, glass items and also shadows in some due to shifts in natural light or a lack of natural light. Artificial light can cast an amber/yellow glow upon items, esp linens.
Vintage items generally show age and some wear and I do my best to make note of any condition issues.
