    Description

The American Potter New York Worlds Fair 1939-1940
Homer Laughlin Seasons Summer Scene in Original Turquoise Glaze
    Circa 1940
: Showcasing their excellence, Homer Laughlin used one of their most skilled artists to carve the reliefs for what would become their seasonal dish sets at the New York Worlds Fair from 1939-1940. The four seasons were sold there, embossed with the charming scenes of the seasons and dipped in their popular Vintage Fiesta solid color glaze of turquoise blue. Advanced collectors of Homer Laughlin pottery will delight in adding these whimsical reliefs to their collections in their favorite colors and themes.
This dish/tray depicts the summer scene, in the original turquoise glaze and is nicely marked on the back "The American Potter, New York Worlds Fair, 1940"
*Note that in the listing photo, there appears to be a yellowish haze in the middle right of the image.  The item you will receive is in pristine condition and shows absolutely no yellowing.*
